Pfizer this week unveiled its $150 million expansion project in Michigan and is ready to hire about 200 employees.

The drugmaker showcased its new $41 million, 98,000-square-foot warehouse. It also is building a $105.6 million sterile manufacturing operation at the site.

The warehouse will be operational next month, Pfizer Kalamazoo site leader Bob Betzig said at an opening event, Fox 17 News reported.

Pfizer has said a 10,000-square-foot aseptic processing work center is slated to be finished next year, with the first commercial batches expected by year-end 2019.

Over the past decade, Pfizer has invested about $1 billion at its Kalamazoo site and has told officials there that it could be investing about $800 million more in the next decade.

Pfizer last month said it would take some of the tax benefits that came from the recent U.S. tax code change and invest $5 billion in capital projects in the U.S., including some for manufacturing projects.
